Tree Trimming & Pruning

Importance of Tree Trimming

As part of your landscaping, trees tend to be low maintenance. In most cases, trees don’t require extra water or care. However, in order to keep your trees healthy, they will require a little care to keep them beautiful and safe. Here are some reasons tree trimming is important:

Tree Appearance

Trees need to be regularly trimmed or they can grow misshaped and look unbalanced. Branches may sprout in strange directions, resulting in uneven growth and making your trees appear run down.

Trimming is like a haircut, it compliments the tree’s natural shape. Thinning out limbs and cutting unwieldy branches improves the tree’s appearance and health. Trimming will also boost the appeal of a property.

Tree Health

Too much tree growth affects the health of a tree in a negative way. Trees can become weaker without regular trimming and it will lessen their chance of survival.

Trimming is often referred to as pruning, it involves cutting back or removing branches that are diseased, infested, and/or interfering with healthy growth. Trimming will keep your trees strong for years to come.

The aesthetics of your landscape can be affected when you don’t trim your trees.

When trees for densely packed branches it can block sunlight from your garden and prevent rain from reaching the grass. stunting the growth of your landscaping. Regular tree trimming ensures that sunlight and moisture get through to your lanscaping. Furthermore removing limbs can improve your view of your landscaping, the lake, the valley, etc.

Safety

Trimming protects your family, others, and your property from hazardous branches.  If branch growth gets out of hand on large trees it can be very dangerous. If branches are touching your roof they can cause severe damage to your home. Also, older dry and dead branches are very flammable and can be a fire hazard, or these limbs can down a power line, or be set on fire by a power line.

Branches can be very heavy, which could cause serious injury if they fall on someone. This is commonly true for non-pruned trees during the months of March through October.
